Girl's Weekend 2022

Since the arrival of my daughter Ella, I have turned into a complete homebody. It's not a bad thing, but it is different than most people my age. Just freshly turning 21 this past year, most adults my age are still in college, partying, traveling, working, figuring out the meaning of life, etc. Meanwhile, I have been used as a human playground, bitten, smacked; have had my hair constantly pulled, and the weight of helping raise the next generation on my shoulders. I think a girl's weekend getaway would do me some justice.

Immediately I started looking into hotels we could stay at. I found the perfect one right in town! Things that I was looking for in a hotel were...

  • Within walking distance of the restaurant/bar we were going to! (It is NEVER okay to drink and drive!!!)

  • Indoor swimming pool (The hotel I picked had two huge waterslides! It also had a hot tub, which was a bonus!)

  • Good reviews (Either online or by word of friends/family)

  • Nearby shops we wanted to visit

Once I found the place that met all of my requirements, I booked it and started brainstorming what we would fill our time together with!

Originally, there was supposed to be three of us friends going but due to sickness, Sammi was unable to make it! We hope that she can come with us next year!

This also changed some of our original plans. Sammi is a photographer (The best one as a matter of fact!) you can find her on Facebook here Samantha Marie Photography | Facebook )

We had planned a ghost themed nighttime shoot in an outdoor shopping area. Sammy and I both felt it would be wrong to do that shoot without Sammi, so we changed up our schedule.

(Haha, just in case you are confused Sammy is my sister-in-law and Sammi is our friend!)

First Night

On Saturday, we drove off into town with our queen, Shania Twain, blasting through the speakers. We stopped at Walmart to get makeup and food to bring back to the hotel! At 4:00pm we checked in to our room and got ourselves ready to walk to the restaurant! When I say we were right in town, I mean it! Mcdonalds was on our right and we could walk to a hundred different stores around us!

While we sat and ate our dinner at Applebee's, we talked about our plans for the night! We decided instead of going shopping after dinner we were just going to head back to the hotel for the night and use the entire next day for shopping! This ended up being a great decision!

When we got back to the hotel, we got into our bathing suits and went right into the hot tub! My oh my that felt so nice!!! I really wish you could stay in there longer without getting sick! After relaxing in there for 15 minutes we made our way to the waterslides. I was very impressed with how tall they were. The only thing about it was the fact that there was almost no visibility from the top looking down to the pool. So, there were young kids at the top directing people to go down the slide when the pool was finally cleared. As you can imagine, it was kind of hectic! There was a sign at the top saying only one person at a time. It was confusing trying to figure out if it meant just one person at a time per slide or if it was supposed to be one person at a time for both slides. It would have been a lot easier and safer if the hotel had an employee at the top of the slides directing! Otherwise, they were a blast!! The green colored one was scary because it was completely pitch black, but it was fun! The yellow one wasn't closed off on the top, so I was able to sit up! (You can see what they looked like in the 3rd TikTok video I have posted below.) We both had so much fun!

Once we were done swimming, we headed back to our room to shower. We then got into our matching Pj's and cowgirl hats and glammed ourselves up for a photo shoot!

Above are a few of my favorite pictures Sammy took of me!

And here are a few of my favorite pictures of us together!

We both had so much fun doing this shoot!

Another fun thing we did was create a few TikTok's

Overall, this one-night getaway was exactly what I needed! I am so excited to see what Sammy plans for next year!!

Even if you can't afford a hotel room for the night you deserve to have a fun night out or in with your bestie!!

While being a mom is my #1 priority, I think it's important to remember that I'm only young once and that its okay to have fun every once in a while! Even though I love being home I realized I can have so much fun and make so many more memories beyond my driveway.

This last video is a quick mash up of videos throughout the weekend :-)

Have a great weekend everyone <3
